National Identity and Ukrainianisation

There is a broad consensus in Ukrainian society to promote the use of the Ukrainian language. This has intensified following each Russian invasion. There have been recent changes in laws, regulations and practice of Ukrainian public and private entities.  There is also some rejection of the Russian language and culture, as well as regulations limiting the circulation of cultural products from the Russian Federation and from the Soviet period. There are differences of opinion among progressive Ukrainians regarding these policies, as in every state which emerges from colonisation or external domination.
